to finish up in our team. She is a full sister to our highly promising 3yo filly Tillotson
Tillotson won at Canterbury during her last preparation. She is potentially the fastest horse I have ever syndicated. She has an amazing turn of foot and, once she settles down, could easily develop into a stakes class horse.
Deep Field started his stud career in a blaze of glory being the Leading Second Season Sire By Winners in Australia in Season 2019/20. He was also the leading sire of 3yo winners in Australia which was an extraordinary result for a sire from his first crop of foals ahead of the likes of Fastnet Rock, Snitzel, I Am Invincible and Redoute's Choice.
I loved his progeny when I first saw them but the ones, I liked were too expensive. He was very well marketed when his progeny hit the sales. I was keen to secure one for the right money and eventually found a chestnut filly in Perth I really liked and bought her for $55,000. This was Fituese who is Deep Field's most winning daughter. She is an outstanding mare and has won at Group 3 and Listed level. She was a good thing beaten in the recent Magic Million's Sprint at the Gold Coast. This would have seen her stakes earnings pass $1 million.
This filly comes from the Star Witness mare Jerry's Witness. Her only foal to race is Tillotson. Jerry's Witness is a sister to the good sprinter Eden Roc Sunny Boy (HK) who has won over $870,000 in stakes money and won again recently in Hong Kong. She is also a ¾ sister to the multiple Group winner Star Turn who now stands at stud and is a successful sire. There are good gallopers down the page which is a great sign.
Jerry's Witness second foal is a 2yo colt named Taurids which was purchased for $380,000 as a yearling at the 2021 Gold Coast Magic Millions. He had a barrier trial recently and finished it off quite well. Chris Waller trains him and he is now spelling. In my opinion, he wasn't as nice a horse as Tillotson or this filly. This filly actually has more scope than Tillotson at the same age.
I highly recommend this filly and have paid her up for the rich Inglis Race Series.
She heads to John Thompson who has done a great job for us.
