Deep Field filly out of Alliterate 2021

10% shares $27,500 5 % shares $13,750

Patrick Payne To Train

I’m thrilled to have secured this filly.  She heads to Patrick Payne who does such a great job for us.  Here is a summary of the yearlings purchased from 2013 to 2020 for Patrick by Prime Thoroughbreds to have raced.

In total 30 of the 43 yearlings to have raced are winners having won 94 races and returned $6,445,524 to date in stakes money (In addition to this the retired mares were sold for $1,604,500 in Public Auctions on completion of their careers with Prime Thoroughbreds. This takes the gross returns to $8,050,024).

I expect The Devil In Her, Palulu, Capistan, Rubikai and Another Nephew which have raced but not won to win races.

This would see us having 35 winners from the first 43 horses to race with Patrick (81%).  These are extraordinary figures and way above the industry average.

I love Deep Field as a sire.  He has done an exceptional job with his oldest progeny being 6yo.  Sadly, Deep Field has become infertile, and this filly is one of his last decent crops.  There are only 14 foals on the ground born in 2022.

I purchased Fituese in his first crop and she did a remarkable job winning seven races. This is the most wins of any of Deep Field’s daughters.  On top of that she was named Joint NSW BOBS Horse Of The Year in the 2019/20 Racing Season.  I got a great thrill out of this being a Victorian based syndicator.

She is scheduled to be sold at this year’s Magic Millions National sale where we would expect her to fetch about $750,000 as a breeding proposition. Fituese won $549,515 on the track and was purchased for just $55,000.

We have had just one other of Deep Field’s progeny to race with Tillotson winning twice including a very good win at Canterbury.

Deep Field is currently 6th on the Australian General Sires List for Winners but more important is that he sits in 3rd place for Stakes Wins behind I Am Invincible and Snitzel.

This is Alliterate’s first foal.  Alliterate was a very fast 2yo winning the Wellington Boot where she beat Spright and being placed 4th in the ATC Kindergarten Stakes behind Astern and El Divino.  Spright’s colt sold for $1,600,000 at the Magic Millions Sale with Astern being one of the most promising young sires in Australia.

Alliterate is by the very good sire in Al Maher.  I loved Al Maher as a sire.  His progeny were tough competitive horses.  Our very good mare Unchain My Heart was By Al Maher. As a broodmare sire he is making a name for himself with the Group 1 winners Krone and Quick Thinker being out of his daughters.  The very good mare Madam Rouge is out of an Al Maher mare. She is by Zoustar who is by Northern Meteor as is Deep Field.  Only one Al Maher mare has had a Deep Field run in Australia with her winning twice and $167,000 in stakes money.  She is still racing and is a Sydney Saturday winner.

I love the family she comes from.  It has given us The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes as well as In Her Time winner of the Group 1 VRC Lightning and Group 1 ATC Galaxy.

In conclusion, I am thrilled to have secured this filly.  She looks like a 2yo runner and is a 13 August foal.

She was reared at Newgate Farm which is a great nursery.  I purchased Xtremetime, Miss In Charge, Tillotson, Miss Divine Em and Embeller from Newgate Farm with each of these mares winning Melbourne or Sydney metropolitan races.

The filly is nominated for the rich Magic Millions series of races and will be also nominated for the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper.
