Puissance De Lune (Ire) filly out of Despacito 2021 – Patrick Payne To Train

5% shares $5,250
10% shares $10,500

I have been on the lookout for a filly by Puissance de Lune for some time and was pleased when I found this filly at the Adelaide Magic Millions sale.  She is a ripping type by a sire doing a great job.  I love the fact Puissance de Lune is by Shamardal, one of the great sires of the world.

Puissance De Lune was a very good racehorse winning eight races from 1400m to 2600m.  He is out of an Unbridled’s Song mare.  I loved Unbridled’s Song’s progeny when he stood here and his daughters have done a great job at stud.  They have thrown an amazing 220 stakes winners with 31 Group 1 winners.

Puissance De Lune defied the pattern here and has been a success at stud.  Very few stayers make the grade in Australia, but he was a very good horse and has.  From limited opportunities he has thrown seven stakes horses from his 74 winners.  The best is Moonlight Maid the winner of the time-honoured Edward Manifold Stakes.

Our filly is out of Despacito by All American, a Group 1 winning son of Champion broodmare sire Red Ransom.  The daughters of All American have already thrown two Group 1 winners.  I saw All American at Lindsay Park when he was racing.  He was an outstanding type of horse and very talented.  He won stakes races twice as a 2yo and won the Group 1 Emirates as an older horse.

Despacito was a handy filly on the track winning three including Melbourne and Adelaide Metropolitan races.  She ran good races behind some talented fillies.  This is her first foal.

She is a ½ sister to the multiple stakes winner Diamonds and Group 1 performed sprinter Masthead.  One of her sisters is the dam of Written Dash, the winner of the Group 3 Typhoon Tracey Stakes.

Good families consistently throw up good gallopers and this is the case again her with The Intimidator winning the Listed Mufhasa Stakes and reported to be heading to a Group 1 race in NZ.

The filly was reared at Edinburgh Park who I bought Rubisaki, Zizzis and Black and Tan from.  It is a great nursery.
