Alabama Express filly out of Bel Chandon 2023

5% shares $10,750 – 10% $21,500

Team Payne To Train

Alabama Express is perhaps the very best sire in Australia. He has had 24 winners with four stakes winners and three stakes placed horses.  This sees him having 25% stakes winners to winners which is exceptional.  To give you a comparison Australia’s Champion sire Pride Of Dubai has 285 winners for 23 stakes winners for a 8% stakes winners to winners.

A very positive aspect of his stakes horses is that they have performed from 1000m to 2500m with his 3yo filly Treasurethe Moment winning the Group 1 VRC Oaks.  Also, he has produced these results standing in Victoria which isn’t easy. His best three runners have been filles with Alabama Lass winning at Group 2 and Group 3 level and was second in the Group 1 NZ 1000 Guineas, NZ’s best race for 3yo fillies.

Alabama Express was a very good racehorse winning the Group 1 MRC CF Orr Stakes.  He was a 2yo winner and from a sister to the ATC Everest winner Giga Kick. It doesn’t get much better than being by Redoute’s Choice out of a Encosta De Lago mare.  He comes from a great family.

Alabama Express was 5th on the Australian First Season Sire List in 2023/24 and is 3rd on the Second Season List with far less runners than most of his opposition.

Bel Chandon is by Bel Esprit.  She was a good 2yo winning at Flemington and is a ¾ sister to the Group 1 winner Bel Mer who has possibly the best 2yo filly in Sydney this season in the Gimcrack Stakes winner Bel Merci.  The first three dams have had 20 to race for 17 winners.

Bel Chandon has had two to race with both being winners including a five time winner Field Of Flutes. This is a great running family with this Alabama Express filly looks like a 2yo to me and will be a good fit for Patrick and Michelle Payne.

Rubisaki winning the ATC PJ Bell Stakes!!!
