         Tom Dabernig to Train

I was determined to secure this filly after I inspected her at the Magic Millions Complex. She has great presence and is a strong athletic filly that looks like she could go to the races today.

Her sire Ole Kirk burst on the scene with his first crop of yearlings elevating him to the position as Leading First season Sire in Australia for the 2024/25 Season.  He was second on the two Year Old Sire’s List behind Snitzel as well which is a great effort for a new sire.

Tom Dabernig trains an Ole Kirk 2yo filly named Flying Fury which won a jump out by 10 lengths on 19 January 2026.  She looks an outstanding prospect.

Ole Kirk’s yearlings sold for up to $550,000 at the 2026 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale just completed.

Dizzy Miss Lizzy

Dizzy Miss Lizzy is by Champion Sire I Am Invincible who is having a massive impact on our breeding industry.  In the big scheme of things it is early days for I Am Invincible as a broodmare sire but he is doing a remarkable job and importantly crossing successfully with many sires.

Kimochi and Asfoora are Group 1 winners out of I Am Invincible’s daughters but it doesn’t stop there with him having 21 ‘Black Type’ performers out of his daughters.

I have bought two fillies out of I Am Invincible’s daughters with Cavalry Girl being the second highest earning filly by Bivouac.  The other is Miss Lyra who is one of her Sire Lucky Vega’s only two Metropolitan winners in Australia.

This is Dizzy Miss Lizzy’s second foal with the first a filly by Farnan named I Made You Look in work with Graham Begg.  He is reported to have nice ability.

Dizzy Miss Lizzy comes from a very good family with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th dams all being Group or Listed winners with Princess Marizza and Rose Of Marizza being 2yo winners.

Dizzy Miss Lizzy was a $300,000 yearling and won six races.  She is being well bred with a colt by Prague on her and she is in foal to Captivant.

Ole Kirk (Ire.)

Ole Kirk was a very good racehorse winning the sire making MRC Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.  I regard this as Australia’s best 3yo race.

He has a remarkable pedigree being by Champion sire Written Tycoon out of a full sister to Black Caviar.

After being Champion First Season Sire in 2024/25 he has continued with the job and is 4th on the second Season List this season.

With such a strong pedigree and the quality of mares going to him it is fair to assume in time his daughters will be well sought after broodmares in the future.

It looks to me as though we have another ‘Super Sire’ in the making in Ole Kirk.

It is great to be part of the journey.
