This filly may well turn out to be the best buy from this year’s Inglis Classic Sale. She is a stunning filly by Ole Kirk, the current Leading First Season sire in Australia out of Spicy by Fastnet Rock, the current Leading Broodmare in Australia. Ole Kirk is by Champion Sire Written Tycoon who is the sire of the 2024 Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot who is out of a Fastnet Rock mare. It reads pretty well doesn’t it?

Ole Kirk was an outstanding racehorse winning the Talindert Stakes as a 2yo and then going on to win the Group 1 double of the MRC Caulfield Guineas and ATC Golden Rose. These are two of our very best Group 1 races for 3yo’s with the Caulfield Guineas regarded as a serious sire making race.

Ole Kirk couldn’t have started his stud career any better. He is the Leading First season Sire having sired King Kirk the ATC Breeders Plate winner and the filly O’ Ole the winner of the 2025 Magic Millions 2yo Classic from just six runners.

Ole Kirk has an amazing pedigree being out of Black Caviar’s full sister by a Champion Sire in Written Tycoon.Spicy was a winner and out of the very fast General Nediym mare Paprika which won the BTC Tommy Smith Slipper, QTC McDougall Stakes and was placed in the GCTC Magic Millions 2YO Classic. This is Spicy’s first foal. Spicy was a $350,000 yearling.

There are good ‘Black Type’ performers down the page. The first four dams are by Fastnet Rock, General Nediym, Marauding and Snippets. All Champion sires in their own right.

This filly was reared at Vinery Stud who stand her sire Ole Kirk. Vinery is one of our very best studs.

I have had good success buying yearlings from Vinery over the years including our very good 2yo filly, Cavalry Girl.
