I know this filly well.  She is by one of the most exciting young sires in Australia in Tiger Of Malay who is currently sitting second on the Australian First Season Sires List behind only Home Affairs whose yearlings fetched over $30,000,000 at the main four Australian Yearling Sales in 2025.

Her dam Double Rock was syndicated by Prime Thoroughbreds.  She was a stunning filly by the outstanding 2yo Pierro who has gone on to be one of the most exciting broodmare sires in Australia with the best to race out of his daughters being the Group 1 winners Jacquinot and Femminile.  Pierro mares have worked very well with Danehill line sires with the Group and Listed performers Facile, Karavas, Excel d’Or, Grand Eagle and Pleasure Artist products of this cross  It is only early days for Pierro as a broodmare sire but he is very highly regarded.

I have already had good success buying out of Pierro mares with our highly credentialled Sydney mare Flying Embers out of one.  She is the only yearling I have purchased out of a Pierro mare.

The second dam is the Fastnet Rock mare Sacred Point. She won four races including two Metropolitan races and was placed 4^th in the CJC Canterbury Breeders Stakes.  She is the dam of three winners. Fastnet Rock is Australia’s Leading Broodmare Sire with Joliestar the best to race out of one of his daughters this season.

This is the family of the ATC Group 1 Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign who resides in Japan where she has already produced a stakes horse.

This filly will suit Stuart Gandy who is one of the best trainers of 2yo’s in Australia. Stuart Gandy has won the Tasmanian Magic Millions Two Year Old Classic for Prime Thoroughbreds as well as training the outstanding 2 and 3yo filly Zany Girl and this season Tasmania’s best 2yo filly Momentslikethese.

Tiger Of Malay has made a very positive start to his stud career and currently sits in second place on the Australian First Season Sire’s List.

I am very proud that his best performed 2yo is our filly Momentslikethese with a win and two second placings in the TRC Listed Elwick Stakes and TTC Listed Gold Sovereign Stakes to her credit.

Tiger Of Malay was a very precious 2yo with three wins at two including the Group 2 BRC Sires Produce Stakes.  He was also placed in the Group 1 JJ Atkins Stakes, one of Australia’s five Group 1 races for 2yo’s.

As a 3yo he resumed with a strong win in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes.

Tiger Of Malay has a great female line with his dam the More Than Ready mare Sambar also producing the Group 3 winners Samizdat and Samovare.

His pedigree traces back to Taj Rossi and Dark Eclipse, a Golden Slipper winner.

Stuart Gandy has done a great job for Prime Thoroughbreds.  These statistics tell the story.

It is important to note that three of the four fillies Stuart has trained for me that I bought him as yearlings are ‘Black Type’ performers. The four raced 27 for Stuart times for 7 wins at 26% strike rate and have returned $546,538 in prizemoney and sales receipts.  The four cost just $222,000.

Three of the four were bought from Armidale Stud with all four Magic Millions Sales purchases.  Zany Girl, Momentslikethese and Copper Reign are still in our racing team and these three combined worth is a lot more than the $222,000 the four cost me to purchase!!!
